Yarn Art @ Albany Street Bridge

Making the Route 27 Bridge absolutely fabulous!

Another amazing Guerilla Art Club/Highland Park Arts Commission project! Highland Park & New Brunswick students came together on Saturday morning to create some beautiful yarn art and “build bridges” together for all to see along the Albany Street Bridge walkway.

Their task was to spread the love, make passersby smile by weaving hearts into the fencing. Now, they are artists. So they veered off the assignment into their own creative direction, turning their hearts 3D with added puffs and then their hearts became flowers and smiley faces and messages, too. And we hope it all, indeed, makes you smile.

Please visit. Send us your selfie as the sun sets or rises on these hearts. (Check out the cool shadows they create on the walkway!)

Special thanks to the NJ Division of Highways for approving this - and the Highland Park Crochet & Knitting Club for donating several sheep’s worth of yarn!
